Triple play on the Mall
Lebanon, NH

Round 2

Opponents: Sisters of Battle.

Mission: The Hunt (have to nominate and kill one enemy unit of your choice, worth 2 x VPs)

My opponent for this is a nice guy, known for his uberpowerful fantasy lists. He's not a big fan of 40k, and didn't have a lot of 40k experience. His list sort of echoed his fantasy lists, 3 exorcists, and a land raider (it's legal, it's a transport option for an inquisitior). He chose a squad of kans as his hunt unit, Bob, still smarting from his inability to do any damage the previous game, naturally chose the commander and retinue in the land raider.

We lost the deployment zone role, and the choice of turns. He shot first, and it was painful.

Deployment:

Ork deployment

Imperial deployment

He charged forward, of course, as the exorcists began to systematically shred my kans. KFF? What's that?

The rhinos move forward...

Bad terrain rolls left me unable to back up more, and his three sisters squads stopped, dropped, and roasted all of the grots and half of the 20 man slugga squad. Ouch.

Barbaque Time!

on the other side, another squad pulled up, dropped, and wiped out the rokkit buggies.

With their squad devastated, the sluggas on the right knew exactly what to do. Charge! good rolls let them hit the far left squad, and wipe it out in one turn of cc.

Git'em ladz!

In the center, he charged his land raider with it's prize cargo into the center, just in front of this building. His shooting had forced the tankbustaz to flee, but a couple of good rolls for terrain found Bob, the other full slugga squad, and three kans charging into combat.

WAAAAGH!

Klank, Klank, Klank

the smack down begins

His litanies of weediness helped little, owing to the sheer volume of hits. First the kans wiped out most of the squad, and the sluggaz got the rest, leaving only the cannonness and the inquisitor.

Back across the table, the now small slugga squad consolidated into the middle squad, locking them into combat.

ahhh, wounding on 4s....

The fight in the middle was quicly over, as the kanz krushed the inquisitor, and Bob still didn't get a chance to swing his klaw. Let me tell you, I don't care what your invulnerable save is when there are over 50 choppa attacks with your name on it.

Mad at missing the kill, Bob and the sluggaz moved over, assaulted another sister squad, and wiped it and it's rhino off the table.

The small squad got counter attacked by the other sister squad, and was clubbed down before doing too much damage.

While there are no pictures, the three mobile kans pursued the retreating land raider, and despite taking two turns of shooting from it and the exorcists, they finally caught and blew it and an excorcist up in hand to hand. Another exorcist was destroyed by an unusally accurate leman russ shot.

Results:

Orks Win!!! The victory point swing was mighty, thanks in no small part to the double vps on his command unit.
