Scarpia's MINIVerse - Model Railroading
Motive Power - Diesel
I had originally planned a pre 1930's layout, and I have now changed direction, and am planning on a 1950's transitional layout. A lot of the diesels here go later than that in their paint scheme, but I like them. I may "sneak" in some later period operations just to use them.
I have been picking up some locomotives since January 2008, mostly on eBay. The prices for have been decent on average for the DC locomotives, most have been acquired for less than $50 each. With the limited name plates out there for the CV, I kind of try and pick up what I can. Sure they all need some tweaking, but that's part of the hobby.
Besides the Steam, I'm also collecting Steam and other forms of motive power.

CV 3901 I got this used, and it arrived in perfect condition. Too bad that same night it crashed to the floor with the typical results. Due to this, I've attempted my first DC to DCC conversion on this model. |

CV 8015 Notes: Athearn running gear with a Cary metal body, and the cab roof is brass. Used from an eBay purchase, it arrived damaged with one handrail torn off, and missing paint. Still it was under $30, so I'm keeping it. It runs well. |

Un-lettered Notes: This has been a flighty model, working, than failing, than working again. I only paid $30 for it, so it will have a home as long as it works - sometimes. The model, plastic wise, is crappy and toy like. |
