Scarboyz

Da konviktz loot lots o' stuff - 'ere, old gooba went an looted a full squad from dem hamfisted Goffs!

UPDATED 3-14-2006.

A scar boy neeeds to be bigger than a regular boy, but smaller than a nob. It was pointed out by many boys on the WAAAGH that the fantasy command sprue boss ork was just the right size. Here are the parts used for the test boy from this sprue.
and assembled, with a regular slugga arm and plastic gob added.
sized up against this armless tankbusta, he's still just a bit undersized.

So the next trick was adding some plasticard soles to his boots

hre he is based with a slugga and a nob. Just the right size!
next up was primer
and than some basic colors

a few more colors added for effect

and another painting session found some more check work, weapon highlights, and some clean up on his pants

It's sort of hard to see, but I decided to pick out his scar with DA green.
Here's how he stacks up now, vs a nob (left), and slugga boy (right). In this shot, I tried to draw a line from where their heads meets the shoulder, to get a better representation of size and scale. Note that I doubt the untrained eye will recognize a difference, but the looted goff checks should help set the mob apart.
With the work on the first one done, it was time to model a second one. I wanted this one to be yelling a challange

The two scar boyz on he left do show their muscle when compared to a regular boy (far right).
I realized that this textured plasticard makes better soles (sort of the birkenstock look!)
And with his new shoes, Boy #3.
I need to adjust his "choppa" arm.
Boy #4 got a lot of kustom jobs - a kustom choppa, kustom slugga (made from a cut down shoota), and a split gob.

They're kind of rough bunch so far! Note the one paintd boy who is visiable so far is a regular weedy slugga boy.

Next up was number 5, with the big honkin' choppa
he also gets a kustom slugga
And the growing mob....
I went back and straightened the haft of his choppa....
boy number six got both the left and right heavy arms from the fantasy sprue.
and a kustom slugga
a beakie's worst nightmare.....

Boy number seven has the "mo'dakka" stance.

kustom slugga

the mob grows

Boy number eight is a special weapons model, with a kustom burna made from a shoota, choppa, and paperclip.
he still needs a back pack though.
the backpack and hoses.
as veterens, I decided he needed a nice choppa as well.

The next burna boy was also completed. Hey mr terminator - ya forgot somthin'!
this burna has a few extra spikey bitz

Group shot!
argh!!!!
I decided to use this Gorka morka nob body, but that axe has to go.
Another burna boy....

Don't worry, the green stuff gets taken care of.
Another boy...

And he gets another of the cut down sluggaz.
Ah, back to the nob. A nice new axe, and a fancy powerklaw...

And the last burna boy.
The whole mob. Now this is a good shot, but really, this isn't the best angle to get the feeling for this mob.....

This is

Paint!
Still in progress, the details haven't been applied yet.
